Dr. Viscardi and Staff |
Carteret Vision Center was founded in 1987 by Dr. John R. Scibal with part-time
office hours at Morehead Plaza Shopping Center. During the next year the office
was expanded and relocated to 4500 Arendell Street. In this location, it became
a full-time practice and eyeglass service was added, including one-hour service
on limited prescriptions. This began the concept of "one-stop for professional
vision care." In 1991, the practice relocated again and became one of the
first businesses to open in Cypress Bay Plaza. Business boomed with this new
location and after three years, the practice expanded more than doubling in
size.
Two other big changes occurred along with the size increase. Surfacing equipment
was added to the eyeglass lab, allowing the fabrication of almost all prescriptions
in one hour, including progressive lenses and other specialty lens types. In
house ophthalmologic services were added as well when the office became affiliated
with White Eye Associates in Greenville, NC.
In July of 1999 we built our own building expanding to over 5,000 square feet
with 6 exam rooms, digital photography and computerized refraction. Carteret
Vision Center continues to lead the way in Carteret County for complete ophthalmic
services, always striving to provide the ultimate in patient satisfaction.
